The Indian cricket team will host Australia in a five-match T20 international series starting in Visakhapatnam on Thursday, November 23.

Swashbuckling batter Suryakumar Yadav has been named the captain of Team India for the upcoming T20I series. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be vice-captain for the first three T20Is while Shreyas Iyer will join the squad as vice-captain for the final two T20Is.

Apart from Suryakumar and Shreyas, wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan and pacer Prasidh Krishna are the other two players who were part of the Indian ODI World Cup squad and will also feature in the T20I series.

In the absence of designated coach Rahul Dravid, former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman will be the head coach of the Indian team for the five-match series that will conclude on December 3.

The hosts will look to quickly bounce back after losing to Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 final by six wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

As per the India vs Australia T20I 2023 schedule, the two teams will later travel to Thiruvananthapuram for the second game to be held on November 26.

The third T20I will be played in Guwahati on November 28, while the fourth T20I will take place in Raipur on December 1.

The final T20I of the India vs Australia T20I 2023 series will be held in Bengaluru on December 3.

On the other hand, the Australian cricket team will be led by wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade.

The likes of Pat Cummins, David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Cameron Green, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood have been rested after winning the ODI World Cup for a record sixth time.

Pace-bowling all-rounder Aaron Hardie and fast bowler Kane Richardson have been included in the Australian T20I squad.

Meanwhile, Andre Borovec will be the stand-in coach as full-time head coach Andrew McDonald has been given a break.

India vs Australia T20I head-to-head

India have a superior head-to-head record against Australia in T20 international cricket. The Men in Blue have won 15 of the 26 T20Is that they have played against Australia. The Aussies have registered 10 victories while one match ended in no result.

With the series tied 1-1, the Indian cricket team will lock horns with Australia in the third and final T20 International at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday, September 25. The match will start at 7:00 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

IND vs AUS Dream11 prediction for 3rd T20I 2022

Led by their talismanic captain Rohit Sharma, India bounced back to beat Australia by six wickets in the second T20I in Nagpur and level the three-match series on Friday. Earlier, the Aaron Finch-led Australia defeated the hosts by four wickets in a high-scoring encounter in Mohali.

Ahead of the series-deciding T20 match, India will be concerned over the form of their premier bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel and leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal leading up to the marquee ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be held in Australia next month.

India dropped Bhuvneshwar Kumar in a shortened eight-overs a side game on Friday and are likely to bring him back in place of Rishabh Pant in the playing XI.

On the other hand, Australia have few injury concerns ahead of the final T20. The visitors are sweating over the fitness of in-form pacer Nathan Ellis. If declared fit, Ellis will replace Sean Abbott while Josh Inglis could also be brought back in place of Daniel Sams.

India have a superior head-to-head record against Australia in T20I cricket, winning 14 of the 25 matches that they have played so far. Australia have secured 10 victories while one match ended in no result.

Considering the dew factor, toss could play a crucial role in the series-deciding T20I in Hyderabad. The toss-winning captain is expected to chase on Sunday. The team winning the toss will have an edge going into the final match of the series.

IND vs AUS Dream11 team tips for 3rd T20I 2022

Top tip: Best batter

India captain Rohit Sharma will be the batter to watch out for in the series-deciding third T20I against Australia on Sunday. The 35-year-old opening batter smashed an unbeaten 46 runs off just 20 balls to guide India to a six-wicket win in the second T20I and level the series 1-1. Rohit Sharma has already accrued 90 fantasy points and will be a worthy fantasy pick for the final T20I at 9 credits.

Top tip: Best bowler

In the bowling department, Australia’s Adam Zampa will be a smart fantasy pick at just 8.5 credits. The New South Wales-born leg-spinner once again troubled the much-famed Indian batting line-up in the second T20I in Nagpur as he bagged the crucial wickets of KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav. Zampa will play an important role in the series finale and will look to add to his fantasy tally of 111 points.

Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper

As far as all-rounders are concerned, India’s Axar Patel will be the overwhelming choice. Roped in as a like-for-like replacement for injured Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel has been the leading wicket-taker in the three-match T20I series so far. The left-arm spinner has picked five wickets in two matches at an average of six. He can also contribute with the bat coming lower down the batting order. Having accumulated 190 fantasy points already, Axar Patel will be a great fantasy pick at just 6.5 credits.

For the wicket-keeper spot, Australia’s Matthew Wade will be the top fantasy recommendation over Dinesh Karthik of India. Besides fulfilling his wicket-keeping responsibilities, Wade has been in scintillating form in the ongoing series, scoring 88 runs in two matches at a staggering strike rate of 214.63. At just 6.5 credits, the in-form Australia wicket-keeper batter could be a game-changer in the final T20I of the series.

IND vs AUS 3rd T20I playing XI (probable)

India playing XI (probable): KL Rahul (vice-captain), Rohit Sharma (captain), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik (wicket-keeper), Axar Patel, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal

Australia playing XI (probable): Aaron Finch (captain), Cameron Green, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis, Tim David, Matthew Wade (wicket-keeper), Pat Cummins, Nathan Ellis, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

Trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand (NZ) and Australia (AUS) will lock horns in a mouth-watering T20 World Cup 2021 final at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, November 14.

Both New Zealand and Australia qualified for the T20 World Cup 2021 semi-finals as the second-placed team in their respective groups before they knocked out their much-fancied opponents in England and Pakistan respectively to book their place in the final. The marquee ICC tournament will have a first-time winner as Australia and New Zealand are yet to lay their hands on the T20 World Cup trophy.

NZ vs AUS Dream11 prediction

Australia have a superior head-to-head record against New Zealand in T20Is, winning nine of the 14 matches that they have played so far. However, the Blackcaps secured an eight-run win over the Aussies in their only meeting in the T20 World Cup in Dharamsala in 2016.

Australia had earlier beaten New Zealand in their last World Cup final meeting in the 50-over format in 2015 and will have a slight edge against the Kiwis due to their head-to-head records in ICC tournaments.

NZ vs AUS Dream11 team tips for ICC T20 World Cup 2021

Top tip: Best batter

Australia opening batter David Warner has been in great form in the ongoing edition of the T20 World Cup. The 35-year-old has amassed 236 runs in six matches at a strike rate of 148.42 while also maintaining an average of 47.20. Warner needs another 68 runs to leapfrog Pakistan captain Babar Azam as the leading run-scorer in T20 World Cup 2021 and he will look to play another match-winning innings for Australia to help them claim their maiden T20 World Cup title.

Top Tip: Best bowler

In the bowling department, Australia’s Adam Zampa has been one of the standout bowlers in the tournament. The leg-spinner has picked 12 wickets in six matches at an economy of 5.69. Given the nature of the pitch at Dubai International Stadium, Zampa is likely to play an important role for Australia in the T20 World Cup final.

Top Tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper

As far as all-rounders are concerned, one must pick in-form James Neesham in your fantasy cricket team. The New Zealand all-rounder scored a blitzkrieg 11-ball 27 to help the Blackcaps beat favourites England in the semi-final. Neesham has also chipped in with crucial wickets for New Zealand throughout the tournament and will hold the key once again in the summit clash.

For the wicket-keeper spot, Matthew Wade of Australia will be the overwhelming choice over New Zealand’s Tim Seifert. The southpaw scored an unbeaten 41 off 17 balls against Pakistan to take Australia to the T20 World Cup final. At 8.5 credits, Matthew Wade will be a handy budget pick.

NZ vs AUS probable playing XI

NZ playing XI (probable): Martin Guptill, Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson (captain), Tim Seifert (wicket-keeper), Glenn Phillips, James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Trent Boult

AUS playing XI (probable): David Warner, Aaron Finch (captain), Mitchell March, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade (wicket-keeper), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood

The Indian cricket team has expressed their reluctance to travel to play the fourth and the final Test of the ongoing series against Australia in Brisbane.

The Queensland government shut down its border to New South Wales and are said to be pushing for harsher bio-security protocols.

The development has put the Brisbane Test in serious doubt, which is scheduled to be played from January 15 at the Gabba.

Earlier, five Indian players including vice-captain Rohit Sharma were placed in isolation after a video emerged of them eating at an indoor restaurant in Melbourne on New Year's Day. Rohit along with Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini have all been separated from both the Test squads.

Reports have suggested that the Indian cricketers aren't keen on travelling to Brisbane if the players are forced to undergo quarantine.

The third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2021 will start at the Sydney Cricket Ground on January 7 and Team India has expressed their desire to play the final Test at the same venue.

In light of this, members of the Queensland government have stated that the visiting team should not enter the state if they are unwilling to coordinate with the protocols that have been laid out.

"If the Indians don't want to play by the rules, don't come," Queensland's Health Shadow Minister Ros Bates was quoted as saying by Fox Sports.

Furthermore, Queensland's Shadow Sports Minister Tim Mander said there's no room for ignoring the protocols and that every individual would have to go through the same drill.

"If the Indian cricket team wants to spit the dummy and disregard quarantine guidelines in Brisbane for the fourth Test, then they shouldn't come. The same rules must apply to everyone. Simple," Mander said.

On the other hand, Australia batsman Matthew Wade rejected the idea that there was uncertainty over the schedule.

"(There's) No uncertainty from our side...we understand that us as a group we will go to SCG (Sydney Cricket Ground) and then we'll go to Brisbane and play at the Gabba until powers that be knock on our doors and tell us that it is going to change.?/span>

The left-handed batsman also gave an indication of stricter quarantine rules at Brisbane during a virtual media briefing.

"Brisbane will be a harder quarantine and bio-security bubble than what we have had here, that is for sure. That has been relayed to us. No one knows the finer details of it yet. But yes, it would be a strict protocol than here."

The ongoing four-match series is currently tied at 1-1, with the hosts winning the first Test in Adelaide, and India pulling off an eight-wicket victory at Melbourne.

The Australia cricket team didn’t seem to be lacking motivation at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday, despite conceding the three-match T20I series in the first two matches, as the hosts piled up a competitive target of 187 in 20 overs.

After Aaron Finch was dismissed early on in the innings, Steven Smith gave Matthew Wade some company before Glenn Maxwell joined hands with the wicket-keeper to smash Indian bowlers all over the park.

The duo forged a 90-run partnership in nine overs to take Australia’s score from 79/2 to 169/3. While Wade’s magnificent 53-balls-80 led Australia’s charge for the most part of the innings, Maxwell’s 36-balls-54 was equally significant in hiking the run rate for the hosts.

However, Maxwell’s stupendous form was always challenged by the Indian fielders and one such instance came in the 14th over. Shardul Thakurs length ball was launched into the sky by Maxwell as it looked destined for a six, before Samson threw himself over the ropes, took the catch and threw it back inside the ground ?all of that in a split second.

On a day, India’s repeated misfields highlighted most of their performance, Samson stunt at the ropes won hearts of rivals and neutrals alike. Here’s how Twitter lauded the emerging Indian cricket star.

The Australian cricket team picked up a consolation victory in the third T20I on Tuesday as they defeated India by 12 runs to avoid a T20I series whitewash.

Put in to bat by the Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, Australia posted a competitive total of 186/5 in 20 overs, riding on some splendid batting efforts from the likes of Matthew Wade and Glenn Maxwell. The Aussies, in fact, lost their captain Aaron Finch in only the second over before a much-needed 65-run stand between Steve Smith and Wade steadied their ship.

After Smith was gone, it was Maxwell's turn to partner up with Wade and they ended up playing a match-winning 90-run partnership to take Australia out of bother. India, on the other hand, lost KL Rahul early but Shikhar Dhawan and Kohli looked comfortable in the middle. But once the former was gone, India lost wickets at regular interbals before falling 12 runs short of the target.

A win for Australia means India have lost their first T20I since December 2019, ending a run of 10 victories on the trot.

Aaron Finch's evident struggle against India

Captain Aaron Finch took the field after missing the second T20I owing to a hip injury. Much was expected from the Aussies skipper, but a miss-timed shot off Washington Sundar's delivery meant Finch walked off the field after playing just two balls. This was Finch's fifth duck in T20Is and second against India. Note that both of his ducks against the Men in Blue have come in his last five encounters and the wickets have been taken by a spinner; Yuzvendra Chahal in the 1st T20I, and Sundar in 3rd T20I. Furthermore, in what comes as a major shock, the 34-year-old has accumulated just 71 runs in his last five games against India, registering three single-digit scores.

Aaron Finch in his last 5 innings vs IND in T20Is
Runs Ground Start Date
0 Sydney 08-Dec-20
35 Canberra 04-Dec-20
8 Bengaluru 27-Feb-19
0 Visakhapatnam 24-Feb-19
28 Sydney 25-Nov-18

Quick stat: Like his captain Aaron Finch, all of Steve Smith's dismissals in this T20I series have come against spinners. Chahal has got the better of him twice, while Sundar once. Out of his 29 dismissals in T20Is, a whopping 14 have come against the spinners, which translates to 48.27 % of his dismissals.

Wade and Maxwell anchoring Australia

Matthew Wade and Glenn Maxwell anchored Australia's innings from 79/2 to take them to 169/3. Wade, on his part, scored his third T20I half-century, with two of them coming against India on the trot. The 32-year-old wicket-keeper batsman scored 17 fours in the T20I series, which is the most by an Australian and fourth-most by a batsman overall against India in a bilateral series.

M Wade in this series vs IND
Bowlers Runs Balls Outs Dots 4s 6s SR

S Thakur 35 18 1 6 4 2 194.40
T Natarajan 10 8 0 1 0 0 125.00

For Maxwell, he scored his eighth T20I half-century. The all-rounder accumulated 54 runs in an innings which included three fours and three sixes. That means the 32-year-old has hit the joint-most sixes against India in T20Is. Here is the detailed bifurcation:

Most 6s vs IND in T20Is
Player Mat Inns NO Runs 6s
E Lewis (WI) 9 8 1 322 28
GJ Maxwell (AUS) 16 15 2 431 28

C Munro (NZ) 12 12 1 426 24
SR Watson (AUS) 8 8 2 302 20

Virat Kohli's game by numbers

Indian captain Virat Kohli was at his usual best on Tuesday, scoring a quick-fire 61-ball 85 at a strike rate of 139.34. This was Kohli's 25th T20I half-century, seventh against Australia, fifth in Australia, third at Sydney (most by any player at the venue), ninth as a captain and first in 2020.

An 85 in the 3rd T20I means Kohli now has the joint-most fifty-plus scores in T20I (25), level with Rohit Sharma, albeit in fewer games. Here's a detailed breakdown:

Most fifty-plus score in T20Is
Player Mat Inns NO Runs 100 50 50+
RG Sharma (INDIA) 108 100 15 2773 4 21 25

PR Stirling (IRE) 78 77 6 2124 0 18 18
MJ Guptill (NZ) 91 87 7 2575 2 15 17

Virat Kohli has now accumulated 1271 runs T20Is which is third-most by a captain in the format. England skipper Eoin Morgan sits at the top with 1289 runs followed by Faf du Plessis' return of 1273. The likes of Aaron Finch (1265) and Kane Williamson (1243) complete the top-five list.

A whopping 17 of Kohli's 25 T20I half-centuries have come in chases, and India have won 13 of them, with only four coming in a losing cause. Note that this was the first time India lost a T20I game at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

After Australia clinched the ODI series 2-1, the Indian cricket team bounced back strongly to seal the T20I series Down Under. As we inch closer to the last game of the white-ball series, I must admit that this has been a sheer delight to watch.

So, when these two sides cross swords in the third and final T20I of the three-match series on December 8 at the Sydney Cricket Ground yet again, I expect the following players to play a key role in it:

Deepak Chahar

Indian medium pacer Deepak Chahar, who holds the record for the best bowling figures in T20I history, will look to put in a good display in the final game of the white-ball series. Even though Chahar was expensive in the last T20I encounter, he is a wicket-taker with the new ball and would want to end the series on a high. The 28-year-old had a decent outing in the first match of the T20 series where he gave the Indians a match-winning breakthrough by removing the dangerous Moises Henriques.

Matthew Wade

Australia’s stand-in skipper Matthew Wade will be very disappointed that his blistering half-century in the second T20I ended up in a losing cause. Leading the Aussies in the absence of injured Aaron Finch, Wade’s blitzkrieg innings of 58 runs off just 32 balls had helped the hosts post a mammoth total of 194/5 in their 20 overs. The 32-year-old will hope that he can contribute with the bat at the top of the order and help the side end the limited-overs series with a victory.

Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer just showed why he is such a valuable asset to the Indian white-ball set-up in the last T20 encounter against Australia. Iyer’s monstrous 111-metre six off Adam Zampa was one of the highlights of the second T20I. His 46-run stand with India all-rounder Hardik Pandya steered the visitors to a series-clinching victory on Sunday. Since the pitch at the Sydney Cricket Ground has been a batting paradise, I expect Shreyas to come good again in the final match of the T20 series.

Marcus Stoinis

The Australian all-rounder looked in great touch in the second T20I after making his comeback from an injury. Marcus Stoinis was also one of the standout performers in the recently-concluded Indian T20 league. The 31-year-old has already played 23 T20Is in his short international career, amassing 236 runs and claiming nine wickets for the Aussies. With the conditions at the SCG assisting the batters, I believe Stoinis can rightly be Australia’s X-factor in the third T20I. Of course, avoiding India’s clean sweep will be an added motivation as well.

The India cricket team will look to register their second consecutive T20 series white-wash when they take on Australia in the third and final game of the series at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Tuesday.

Virat Kohli’s men have already sealed the three-match T20I series with wins in the first two matches, and the Men in Blue will now go for a clean sweep in Australia. A win on Tuesday could see India managing a record back-to-back series whitewash as they arrive at the game with a 5-0 T20I series win against New Zealand earlier this year.

India have also extended their winning streak in T20Is to 10 games, thereby breaking arch-rivals Pakistan’s record, who had won nine T20I games on the trot in 2018. Team India’s last defeat in T20Is came against West Indies back in 2019, following which they have defeated Sri Lanka, New Zealand and Australia.

Furthermore, the Men in Blue have not lost an away T20I since February 2019.

India will also look to complete a second T20I series whitewash over Australia in their backyard after MS Dhoni's men had thrashed the hosts 3-0 in 2016.

Meanwhile, a whitewash for India against Australia will equal Afghanistan’s 11-consecutive win record as the team will move up to the second spot in ICC T20I rankings.

India vs Australia head-to-head count in the shortest format favours Virat Kohli’s men, who have won 13 matches of the 22 T20Is played between these two nations, with Australia claiming eight victories. Momentum is rightly on India’s side and they will look to clean sweep the T20I series. So with that being said, we take a look at some preemptive stats ahead of India vs Australia 3rd T20I:

Dhawan's away record a concern for Aussies

India opener Shikhar Dhawan surpassed MS Dhoni to become the country's third-highest run-scorer (1641) in the shortest format of the game following his quick-fire half-century on Sunday in the second T20I. Of those 1641 runs, a whopping 768 runs (46.80%) have come in away conditions at an average and strike rate of 29.53 and 143.82 respectively. Six of his 11 T20I half-centuries too have come away from home.

Shikhar Dhawan in T20Is:

Conditions

Match Innings    NO  Runs % of Runs Avg BF SR 50
Home 27 26 2 702 42.78 29.25 592 118.58 4
Away 27 26 0 768 46.80 29.53 534 143.82 6
Neutral 9 9 1 171 10.42 21.37 154 111.03 1

Should Wade continue to lead Australia in T20Is?

Australia’s stand-in skipper Matthew Wade made his T20I captaincy debut on Sunday. Throughout his career across the shortest format, Wade has performed impressively as captain as compared to just being a wicket-keeper batsman. Additionally, Wade’s opening batting numbers have also been quite impressive in the last four years of T20s, amassing 1,134 runs at the average of 43.62 across T20Is. He has accumulated these many runs at the strike rate of 151.60, including a ton and 11 fifties.

Matthew Wade’s T20 comparison:
As Non-Captain Metrics As Captain
105 Match 25
88 Innings 24
1529 Runs 1001
21.54 Average 45.5
124.01 Strike Rate 156.41
0/7 100s/50s 1/10
100/50 4s/6s 88/37
7.95% 50+innings % 45.83%
12.98% Boundary Balls % 19.53%

Yuzvendra Chahal’s inconsistent returns

After bowling a match-winning spell in the first T20 match of the three-match series, Yuzvendra Chahal recorded expensive figures in the second Australia vs India T20I encounter as he leaked 51 runs in his quota of four overs. Since 2019, the Indian leg-spinner has bowled at an economy of 9+ in nine out of 17 innings in T20I.

Highest percentage of innings with 9+ economy in T20s since 2019:
Players Innings Innings with 9+ economy Innings with 9+ economy %
Mustafizur Rahman (BAN) 11 6 54.55
Yuzvendra Chahal (IND) 17 9 52.94
Lasith Malinga (SL) 14 7 50.00
Joshua Little (IRL) 12 6 50.00

Stats to keep an eye on:

3 - India have played three T20Is at this venue and won all of them.

8 - Virat Kohli has won eight consecutive T20Is as captain of India.

6 - If India manages to win the third T20I, it will be the sixth instance where Team India has inflicted a whitewash in a bilateral series with minimum three matches.

3 - Aaron Finch is three sixes away from completing 100 sixes in T20Is and can become the first Australian to do so.

1 - Virat Kohli needs one more six to complete 300 T20 sixes. Meanwhile, Dhawan requires one more six to complete 50 sixes in the shortest format of the game

1 - India will become the first team to inflict three whitewashes against the team playing at their own backyard (excluding neutral venues). Currently, India and England have two whitewashes to their name in a bilateral series of three or more matches.

India found expected heroes in Hardik Pandya and Thangarasu Natarajan in Sydney last Sunday as they sealed the three-match T20I series with two consecutive wins.

However, despite India managing a six-wicket win over the hosts, the competition was far from being one-sided as Australia’s top-heavy batting order had tallied a massive 194 while batting first.

With a whitewash, and consequently their self-respect, at stake in front of the home crowd for Australia, the motivation will be more than ever for the Kangaroos to give their best. India, on the other hand, will hardly be complacent with some envious records at stake as they stare at a record consecutive whitewashes in T20Is.

Tuesday’s clash will undoubtedly be a top-notch one with both the sides needing unlikely heroes to rise to the occasion. We can help you in naming some of those probables who could steal the show in the fantasy league.

Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya was fortunate that a large duration of his recovery was taken up by the global virus inaction in the cricket calendar, as the all-rounder didn’t let his contemporaries get ahead of him. He has come back in some form and BCCI’s decision to not let him bowl is a gamble well taken. While the all-rounder’s pyrotechnics makes him the top MVP candidate in any fantasy team, as his current form makes him unputdownable.  After scoring 210 runs in the three-match ODI series, Pandya has tallied 58 runs in the ongoing T20I series at a strike rate of 190.

Sanju Samson

While India’s selection committee came under fire for excluding Suryakumar Yadav from the T20I squad after the player’s stupendous Indian T20 League campaign, Sanju Samson’s inclusion will likely bring in praise. Yet another T20 talent who has languished in the domestic circuit for long, Samson is the perfect middle-order batsman India need in T20s. Though the hard-hitter is yet to forge a big score, his temperament to take on bowlers is exactly what India miss at times. Samson has scored 38 runs in two matches and 20 runs off them have come in boundaries. With the pressure largely off in the last T20I, he could express himself better.

Mitchell Swepson

Mitchell Swepson’s rise in the ongoing T20I series isn’t surprising given how 2020 has panned out for the Australia cricket team. This is the first time that Australian spinners have been better than their famed pacers, taking 51.92 per cent of the wickets. The Aussie spinners also enjoy an economy rate of 7.00 and a strike rate of 17.40. Hence, Swepson’s economy rate of 6.25 in the last T20I against India, where he also scalped Sanju Samson’s wicket, was pretty much expected. Adam Zampa’s impressive spells further support Swepson’s case and fantasy team owners could rely on this trend for Tuesday.

Matthew Wade

Opportunities can come in the unlikeliest of times and Matthew Wade is a prime example of that. The wicketkeeper opener hardly holds T20I numbers that could make him a threat to a high-flying Indian side for the third T20I, but as it stands, the southpaw is Australia’s biggest weapon against the Men In Blue on Tuesday. Wade’s 32-balls-58 made him the fourth Australian player to score a fifty on his T20I captaincy debut as the opener didn’t spare a single Indian bowler in the process. His approach isn’t likely to change on Tuesday and he could be a vibrant selection for the same reason.

T Natarajan

Thangarasu Natarajan is in this Indian side only because the selectors?first choice Varun Chakravarthy had to step down in the last moment with an injury. However, the Tamil Nadu-born pacer couldn’t have taken his chance any better and his scintillating performance in the last T20I showed that he is much more than a yorker specialist. T Natarajan conceded just 20 runs in his four overs, in which he scalped the wickets of D’Arcy Short and Moises Henriques as well, and he bowled just one yorker in the process. His intelligent variation is a weapon gradually coming to the fore and fantasy team owners cannot miss picking him in any circumstances.

Injury-hit Australia have called up Matthew Wade and Mitch Marsh to their World Cup squad as cover for Usman Khawaja and Marcus Stoinis.

Top-order batsman Khawaja suffered a left hamstring injury in Australia's shock 10-run defeat by South Africa at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Stoinis was also hampered by a side complaint, an issue which had already sidelined the all-rounder for two group stage matches.

With reigning champions Australia due to play England in the semi-finals at Edgbaston on Thursday, Wade and Marsh have been added to the squad.

Marsh links up with the group for a second time as cover for Stoinis, who missed Australia's wins over Pakistan and Sri Lanka before returning against Bangladesh.

Both Khawaja and Stoinis will undergo scans on their injuries but, in the meantime, Wade and Marsh will leave the Australia A group currently in Sussex, southern England.

Australia captain Aaron Finch admitted Khawaja was unlikely to recover in time for the rest of the tournament when he spoke after the South Africa defeat -- a result that cost his side first place in the 10-team group stage.

"Australia A arrived at Arundel for today's (Sunday's) four-day clash with Sussex short two players after wicketkeeper-batter Matthew Wade and all-rounder Mitch Marsh were called up as cover to Australia's World Cup squad," a Cricket Australia statement read.

"The injury setbacks to Usman Khawaja (hamstring) and Marcus Stoinis (side) suffered in Australia's dramatic loss to South Africa in Manchester has seen the selectors draft in Wade and Marsh.

"They left Brighton this morning for Birmingham, the destination of Australia's blockbuster semi-final show with tournament hosts England on Thursday.

"Both Khawaja and Stoinis are set to undergo scans today before their future in the World Cup is determined, with both players still officially a part of Australia's 15-man Cup squad at this stage.

"However, it appears Khawaja's hamstring injury looks likely to rule the left-hander out for the rest of Australia's campaign."
