High flying Melbourne Renegades (MR-W) take on Adelaide Strikers (AS-W) in the challenger round of the Women’s Big Bash League 2021 at Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 25.

MR-W vs AS-W Dream11 prediction

Both Melbourne Renegades Women and Adelaide Strikers Women have played twice in WBBL 2021, winning one game apiece. Considering the form of these two sides, it is safe to assume MR-W will be the outright favourites. The team is stacked with a series of match winners and individual brilliance has played a key role in their success this season.

MR-W vs AS-W Dream11 team tips for Women’s Big Bash League 2021

Top tip: Best batter

Despite their success, MR-W have more or less struggled in terms of batting. This makes Katie Mack of AS-W a top tip for this position. Mack has made it to the Dream Team in each of her last five outings, making her a must-have player for this contest.

Top tip: Best bowler

Amanda-Jade Wellington was phenomenal in her previous match, taking five wickets for just eight runs. As a result of this, the AS-W bowler accrued a whopping 171 fantasy points from that match. She is currently the most-picked bowler for this fixture.

Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper

Harmanpreet Kaur of MR-W is an outright pick for an all-rounder. Selected by 84.58 per cent of fantasy managers, Kaur is in some form this season as she has accumulated 337 fantasy points from her last five matches. A worthy candidate for captaincy, she should make it to your fantasy team.

For a wicket-keeper, Josie Dooley of MR-W should be picked ahead of Tegan McPharlin of AS-W on the back of her superior display with the bat.

MR-W vs AS-W probable playing XI

MR-W playing XI (probable): Jemimah Rodrigues, Evelyn Jones, Carly Leeson, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jess Duffin, Sophie Molineux (captain), Josephine Dooley (wicket-keeper), Ellen Falconer, Rhiann O’Donnell, Ella Hayward, Holly Ferling

AS-W playing XI (probable): Dane van Niekerk, Katie Mack, Laura Wolvaardt, Tahlia McGrath (captain), Bridget Patterson, Amanda-Jade Wellington, Tegan McPharlin (wicket-keeper), Sarah Coyte, Jemma Barsby, Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown

Match 49 of Women’s Big Bash League 2021 will see Hobart Hurricanes (HB-W) taking on Melbourne Renegades (MR-W) at Harrup Park in Queensland on Friday, November 19.

HB-W vs MR-W Dream11 prediction

Melbourne Renegades women are in fantastic form this season. They have won eight of their 12 matches so far and sit at the top of the standings with 18 points. Hobart Hurricanes Women, on the other hand, haven’t been at their best and find themselves at the bottom of the standings after a mere three wins from 12 games.

The two teams have already crossed paths once this season in what was a rather one-sided affair. After batting first, HB-W were bowled out for 121 and MR-W reached the target with four balls and six wickets to spare. A similar dominant display is expected from the Renegades on Friday.

HB-W vs MR-W Dream11 team tips for Women’s Big Bash League 2021

Top tip: Best batter

Jemimah Rodrigues?form may have dwindled in the last few matches, but Friday’s match gives the MR-W opener a perfect opportunity of getting back on track. The right-handed batter top-scored with an impressive 33 runs against HB-W women last time out and Jemimah will be eager for a similar display as she targets regaining her batting touch.

Top tip: Best bowler

Despite HB-W’s struggle, spinner Molly Strano has managed to flourish big time. The 29-year-old off-break bowler has made it to the Dream Team in all of her last four matches while accumulating an impressive 256 fantasy points. She is a must-have player for this match.

Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper

Harmanpreet Kaur of MR-W is an outright pick for the all-rounder spot. The 32-year-old has been in scintillating form this season and has breached the 100-fantasy point mark in each of her last three matches, taking her tally to 395 points from those games. She also remains a good choice for captaincy.

For the wicket-keeper position, HB-W’s Rachel Priest, who has a century and fifty under her belt in the ongoing season, is the safest option to go with. Priest has been better than her counterpart Josephine Dooley with bat as well as behind the stumps, making her the obvious fantasy pick in this position for this contest.

HB-W vs MR-W probable playing XI

HB-W playing XI (probable): Naomi Stalenberg, Rachel Priest (captain and wicket-keeper), Mignon du Preez, Nicola Carey, Richa Ghosh, Molly Strano, Sasha Moloney, Tayla Vlaeminck, Angelina Genford, Belinda Vakarewa, Amy Smith

MR-W playing XI (probable): Jemimah Rodrigues, Evelyn Jones, Carly Leeson, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jess Duffin, Sophie Molineux (captain), Josephine Dooley (wicket-keeper), Ellen Falconer, Rhiann O’Donnell, Ella Hayward, Holly Ferling

Match 35 of Women’s Big Bash League 2021 will see Melbourne Stars (MS-W) clash with Melbourne Renegades (MR-W) at the Karen Rolton Oval in Adelaide on Sunday, November 7.

MS-W vs MR-W Dream11 prediction

Melbourne Stars are currently fifth in the standings with nine points in their kitty. A win will help them move up the table. However, they will have their task cut out against a formidable Renegades side who are at the top of the standings with 13 points.

The odds are stacked heavily in favour of Renegades who have got some absolute match-winners in their ranks and are basking in their recent success.

MS-W vs MR-W Dream11 team tips for Women’s Big Bash League 2021

Top tip: Best batter

Jemimah Rodrigues is the batter in fine form for Melbourne Renegades women. She smashed a superb 31-ball 52 versus Brisbane Heat women at the top of the order in a winning cause and also scored a match-winning 75 against Sydney Thunder women earlier in the tournament. Available at 9.5 credits, she adds great value to any fantasy team.

Top tip: Best bowler

Tess Flintoff has been in fine form with the ball for Melbourne Stars women in the last few matches. She grabbed back-to-back two wicket hauls against Brisbane Heat women and Adelaide Strikers women respectively and is expected to be amongst the wickets in this clash. The fantasy enthusiasts would certainly want to have her in their ranks.

Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper

Harmanpreet Kaur is a great all-round pick from Melbourne Renegades women camp. She already has two half-centuries to her name in the tournament and has also been a consistent wicket-taker with the ball. The Indian T20I captain smashed a brilliant 32-ball 65 and picked up a wicket in the last match against Brisbane Heat women. Harmanpreet Kaur is a must-have pick in any fantasy team.

Melbourne Stars wicket-keeper Nicole Faltum is the one to watch out for in this match. She is quick and efficient behind the stumps and is also a handy middle-order batter.. The 21-year old is available for just 8 credits and can prove to be a smart pick.

MS-W vs MR-W probable playing XI

MS-W playing XI (probable): Elyse Villani, Meg Lanning (captain), Annabel Sutherland, Maia Bouchier, Kim Garth, Tess Flintoff, Erin Osborne, Nicole Faltum (wicket-keeper), Linsey Smith, Sophie Day, Rhys McKenna

Melbourne Renegades women (MR-W) will lock horns with Sydney Sixers women (MS-W) in match 21 of Women’s Big Bash League 2021 at the Lilac Hill Park in Perth on Saturday, October 30.

MR-W vs SS-W Dream11 prediction

Melbourne’s nine-run win against Sydney Thunder saw them go level with leaders Brisbane Heat women (seven points from five games). This gives the Sophie Molineux-led Melbourne team a psychological advantage in the MR-W vs SS-W contest.

The Renegades registered a landslide win of seven wickets when they played Sixers in match 15 and will start as favourites to win Saturday’s fixture. SS-W, second from bottom on  the points table, have a record of two wins, two losses and one no result from five games this season.

As far as the head-to-head record is concerned, Sydney Sixers have returned with nine wins as opposed to Melbourne Renegades?five.

MR-W vs SS-W Dream11 team tips for Women’s Big Bash League 2021

Top tip: Best batter

Courtney Webb is yet to explode in the ongoing edition of the Women’s Big Bash League, but she’s a batter to watch out. The Melbourne Stars star has scored 617 runs in her WBBL career and will be hoping to add to the 61 runs she’s scored so far this season.

Top tip: Best bowler

Indian spinner Radha Yadav has scalped three wickets in WBBL 2021, and can be backed as the top bowler in fantasy cricket for this match after her performances against Hobart Hurricanes (2/31) and Melbourne Renegades (1/12). The 21-year-old conceded almost seven runs per over in the tournament and will need to bowl a match-winning spell to propel Sixers out of the bottom two.

Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper

Harmanpreet Kaur is the top-rated fantasy cricket player for MR-W vs SS-W, with a whopping 310 points to her name. The Indian women’s cricket team skipper has registered 103 runs and has five wickets for Melbourne Renegades in WBBL 2021.

Meanwhile, Josephine Dooley is pegged to excel in the wicket-keeper slot, ahead of fantasy favourite Alyssa Healy. The Renegades keeper has registered four dismissals in four games (three caught, one stumping) while her counterpart Healy has managed just one dismissal (one caught). Dooley will also be hoping to get some runs under her belt.

MR-W vs SS-W probable playing XI

MR-W playing XI (probable): Evelyn Jones, Jemimah Rodrigues, Courtney Webb, Harmanpreet Kaur, Jess Duffin, Sophie Molineux (captain), Josephine Dooley (wicket-keeper), Carly Leeson, Ella Hayward, Ellie Falconer, Holly Ferling

Melbourne Renegades women (MR-W) take on Adelaide Strikers women (AS-W) in match 8 of Women’s Big Bash League 2021 at Blundstone Arena in Hobart on Wednesday, October 20.

MR-W vs AS-W Dream11 prediction

Both teams have made a winning start to their WBBL 2021 season with MR-W defeating Hobart Hurricanes women by six wickets while AS-W got the better of Sydney Thunder women by 30 runs. Interestingly, both teams managed to take 10 wickets in their respective match and hence, it might all come down to batting on Wednesday.

Now, MR-W does have quality top-order batters like Sophie Molineux and Jemimah Rodrigues, but AS-W’s bowling unit look pretty formidable, which is why one might consider Adelaide Strikers women to be slight favourites on Wednesday.

MR-W vs AS-W Dream11 team tips for Women’s Big Bash League 2021

Top tip: Best batter

MR-W’s Jemimah Rodrigues has to be the first choice batter for this match. The 21-year-old scored 33 runs in her previous outings and although it came at a lowly strike rate of 97.05, a return of 45 fantasy points from that match is the highest among any player.

Top tip: Best bowler

Georgia Wareham of MR-W was simply exceptional in her last match. The 22-year-old bowler picked three wickets while conceding just 13 runs in her four overs. Fantasy users benefited a lot from that performance as she accumulated 118 fantasy points from that match and can be expected to produce a similar performance on Wednesday.

Top tip: Best all-rounder and wicket-keeper

AS-W captain Tahlia McGrath is an outright choice for an all-rounder. The 25-year-old accumulated 147 fantasy points from her last match which came after she scored a 34-ball 42 with the bat besides a return of three wickets for 17 runs with the ball.

As for a wicket-keeper, AS-W’s Tegan McPharlin should be picked ahead of Josephine Dooley due to her better return with the bat.

MR-W vs AS-W probable playing XI

MR-W playing XI (probable): Jemimah Rodrigues, Sophie Molineux (captain), Courtney Webb, Harmanpreet Kaur, Evelyn Jones, Jess Duffin, Georgia Wareham, Josephine Dooley (wicket-keeper), Carly Leeson, Ellie Falconer, Holly Ferling

AS-W playing XI (probable): Dane van Niekerk, Katie Mack, Laura Wolvaardt, Tahlia McGrath (captain), Bridget Patterson, Madeline Penna, Amanda Wellington, Tegan McPharlin (wicket-keeper), Sarah Coyte, Jemma Barsby, Darcie Brown

Indian women’s cricket team opener Shafali Varma, left-arm spinner Radha Yadav and wicket-keeper Richa Ghosh are set to ply their trade in the Women's Big Bash League. However, they are not the first to play in overseas cricket leagues.

In June 2016, the BCCI’s women’s committee gave the green light for its women cricketers to participate in overseas leagues in Australia and England. This paved the way for Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues to earn valuable experiences away from home.

If anything, this landmark development has been a boon for the Indian women’s cricket team, who went on to make their maiden appearance in the knockouts of a T20 World Cup (2018 edition) after a gap of eight years.

Furthermore, the Women’s Cricket Challenge - which began in 2018 - has been a perfect ground for more talent to be unearthed as senior players like Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami are in the twilight of their careers.

With the BCCI forbidding the active men’s cricket team players to participate in overseas cricket leagues, the women cricketers are allowed to elevate the growth of the sport within the community.

Who is the first Indian women cricketer to sign for an overseas team?

In 2016, Indian women’s cricket team T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur became the first Indian women cricketer to sign up for the Women's Big Bash League. The all-rounder signed with the then-defending champions Sydney Thunder and played from 2016-17 till the end of the 2018-19 season.

Harmanpreet had a memorable debut season, as she scored 296 runs in 12 innings at an impressive average of 59.20 and bagged six wickets to be adjudged as the Sydney Thunder’s WBBL player of the tournament. The 32-year-old, going forward, played in 35 matches, tallying 713 runs and 12 wickets.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s stellar debut in Australia earned her a contract with Surrey Stars in 2017. However, she never played as she had to recuperate from a shoulder injury.

Smriti Mandhana, the first Indian women cricketer to play in Women’s Super League

After her stint with Brisbane Heat in the Women's Big Bash League, Smriti Mandhana signed with defending champions Western Storm in 2018. While compatriot Harmanpreet Kaur received a contract a year prior, Smriti Mandhana became the first Indian women cricketer to debut in the Women’s Super League.

Throughout the campaign, Smriti set many records, such as the fastest fifty (18 balls), the first Indian woman to score a century (103), and the highest runs by an Indian in a single campaign (421 runs).

Jemimah Rodrigues sets all-time record at Yorkshire Diamonds

In 2019, Yorkshire Diamonds signed 18-year-old Jemimah Rodrigues for the fourth and final edition of the Women’s Super League. The rest is history.

The Mumbai-born cricketer, who had represented the Indian women’s cricket team in 25 matches before the Yorkshire Diamonds deal, smashed a 51-ball century against Southern Vipers. This went down in the books as the fastest century in the tournament’s history. Jemimah Rodrigues finished her innings at 112.

Jemimah Rodrigues broke the record of the highest individual score set by Smriti Mandhana in the 2018 edition, and her 58-ball 112 remains an unbroken record following the discontinuation of the tournament.

The largest Indian contingent in an overseas league

The Indian women cricketers are set to return for the latest edition of the Women’s Big Bash League, and as per reports, as many as eight players have been signed by franchise teams, making it India's largest contingent yet in any overseas league.

Earlier this year, the inaugural 100-ball League saw five Indians ply their trade. Smriti Mandhana’s Southampton team reached the final but the 25-year-old pulled out of the competition to spend time with her family before departing for a tour of Australia.

List of Indian women cricketers who played in overseas leagues

Name Leagues Teams
Harmanpreet Kaur Women’s Big Bash League, Kia Super League, 100-ball League Sydney Thunder, Surrey Stars (contract signed but never played), Lancashire Thunder, Manchester, Melbourne Renegades
Smriti Mandhana Women’s Big Bash League, Kia Super League, 100-ball League Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Western Storm, Southampton, Sydney Thunder
