The Nepal national cricket team will lock horns with Scotland in their final game of the ongoing ICC CWC League 2 Tri-Series in Houston, Texas on Monday, November 4.

The Nepal vs Scotland ICC CWC League 2 match will start at 9:00 PM IST.

Apart from Nepal and Scotland, the United States of America (USA) is the other team that competed in the ongoing CWC League 2 Tri-Series which is part of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 2023-27.

Under the leadership of captain Rohit Paudel, Nepal will aim to bounce back after suffering a 37-run defeat against the USA at the Prairie View Cricket Complex in Houston, Texas on Saturday.

Previously, Nepal started their ICC CWC League 2 Tri-Series campaign with a three-wicket defeat against the USA on Friday, October 25. However, they later bounced back to beat Scotland by five wickets in the ongoing ICC CWC League 2 Tri-Series.

Having registered just two wins, suffered eight losses and one no result, Nepal are currently placed seventh in the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 standings with five points from 11 matches.

On the other hand, the Scotland national cricket team will head into the fixture high on confidence after they thrashed the United States by 71 runs in their previous encounter on Thursday.

While they succumbed to defeat against Nepal in the ongoing series, they earlier hammered the hosts by 10 wickets in their opening fixture of the series.

With six victories, one no result and four defeats, Scotland are placed third in the ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 standings with 13 points from 10 games.

Meanwhile, the top four teams in ICC CWC League 2 2023-27 will directly qualify for ICC World Cup 2027 Qualifier while the four bottom-placed teams will take part in the ICC World Cup Qualifier Play-off, effectively a repechage tournament also including the top four teams from the ICC World Cup Challenge League, the third tier of international 50-over cricket.

The Grange Cricket Club is a picturesque cricket ground located in the Stockbridge district of Edinburgh, Scotland. 

Founded in 1832, the Grange Cricket Club is situated adjacent to the Edinburgh Academy sports ground, which is in Raeburn Place. It has a seating capacity of 5,000.

Also commonly known as The Grange, the Grange Cricket Club has staged many high profile international matches over the years featuring teams such as Australia, Pakistan, England and New Zealand. 

It hosted its first international cricket match, a one-day international played between hosts Scotland and Bangladesh in the ICC World Cup in May 1999. Under the leadership of Aminul Islam, Bangladesh won the World Cup game by 22 runs.

Almost two decades later in July 2015, the Grange Cricket Club staged its first T20 international cricket match that featured Scotland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during an ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier group match. Scotland thrashed UAE by nine wickets in that game.

During the second T20I of New Zealand’s tour of Scotland in July 2022, the visitors posted 254/5 in their 20 overs to record the highest total at the venue. Electing to bat first, the Mitchell Santner-led New Zealand rode on Mark Chapman’s 83 and Michael Bracewell’s unbeaten 61 to post a massive total on the board. In reply, Scotland could only manage 152/9 in their allotted overs as New Zealand won the game by 102 runs in Edinburgh.

Lowest total

The Scotland national cricket team registered the lowest total at the Grange Cricket Club in the T20 international format. Scotland were bundled out for 82 in 14.4 overs while chasing Pakistan’s 166/6 in the second T20I in June 2018. Calum MacLeod top-scored for Scotland with 25 while Richie Berrington added 20. For Pakistan, right-arm pacer Faheem Ashraf was the wrecker-in-chief with 3/5 in his 2.4 overs. Earlier, Shoaib Malik’s 49 not out and Fakhar Zaman’s 33 powered Pakistan to 166/6 in their 20 overs. Pakistan won the second T20I by 84 runs to clinch the two-match series 2-0.

Most runs

Scotland’s Richie Berrington has scored the most runs at the Grange Cricket Club in T20 international cricket. Between 2015 and 2023, the right-handed top order batter has amassed 389 runs in 14 T20Is at an average of 35.36 and a strike rate of 133.67. He has slammed three T20I fifties at the venue. His compatriot George Munsey is second on the list 281 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 124.88.

Most wickets

Scotland all-rounder Michael Leask has picked up the most wickets at this venue in the T20I format. The right-arm off-spinner has scalped 14 wickets in 13 T20I matches at an average of 18.35 and an economy of 7.34. Pacer Alasdair Evans and left-arm spinner Mark Watt share the second spot with 13 wickets each. 

Highest individual score

Scotland’s Ollie Hairs registered the highest individual score at this venue in T20 international cricket. Opening the batting, the southpaw slammed an unbeaten 53-ball 127 against Italy in an ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Region Qualifier encounter in July 2023. Ollie Hairs clobbered 14 fours and eight sixes to propel Scotland to 245/2 in their 20 overs. In reply, Italy were bowled out for 90 in 12.4 overs as the hosts won the game by a massive 155 runs in Edinburgh.

Best bowling figures

Scotland fast bowler Brad Currie has the best bowling figures at the Grange Cricket Club in the T20 international format. The left-arm medium pacer recorded match-winning figures of 5/13 in his quota of four overs against Ireland in an ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Region Qualifier game in July 2023. Defending 213, Brad Currie dismissed Ireland’s Andy Balbirnie, captain Paul Stirling, wicketkeeper-batter Lorcan Tucker, Harry Tector and Mark Adair to guide Scotland to a nail-biting eight-run victory. 

Highest partnership

Scotland’s Ollie Hairs and Brandon McMullen hold the record for the highest partnership at the Grange Cricket Club in T20 international cricket. During an ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Region Qualifier game in July 2023, Ollie Hairs and Brandon McMullen forged a 183-run stand for the second wicket against Italy. While Ollie Hairs hammered 127, Brandon McMullen scored 96 to help Scotland post 245/2 in their allotted overs. The incredible partnership guided Scotland to a 155-run victory in Edinburgh.

Uganda and the Netherlands hold the unwanted record for the lowest score in T20 World Cup history.

The Brian Masaba-led Uganda national cricket team equalled the lowest score in T20 World Cup after they were skittled out for 39 against the West Indies in a T20 World Cup 2024 Group C match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Earlier, the Netherlands were bundled out for 39 against Sri Lanka during a T20 World Cup match in 2014 in Chattogram, Bangladesh.

The Netherlands once again features on the embarrassing list of the lowest scores in the T20 World Cup after they collapsed to 44 all out against the same opposition in the 2021 edition of the marquee ICC tournament in Sharjah.

Meanwhile, the West Indies cricket team has the record for the lowest score in T20 World Cup history among ICC full-member nations.

West Indies were bowled out for 55 against England during a T20 World Cup group match in Dubai in 2021.

In the semi-final 1 of the T20 World Cup 2024, South Africa knocked out Afghanistan. Batting first, the Rashid Khan-led team could manage a meagre 56 runs in 11.5 overs. The top-scorer for Afghanistan was Azmatullah Omarzai, making 10 runs in 12 balls. For South Africa, both Marco Jansen and Tabraiz Shamsi picked up three wickets each to stun Afghanistan. Later, the Aiden Markram-led contingent chased down the target of 57 runs in 8.5 overs to enter the Final of the marquee event. 

Apart from the Netherlands, Uganda, the West Indies and Afghanistan, the likes of New Zealand, Scotland, Ireland and Hong Kong have also been skittled out for less than 70 in T20 World Cup history. Know lowest score in T20 World Cup across all editions.

Uganda | 39 vs West Indies | 2024

The Uganda national cricket team equalled the record for the lowest total in T20 World Cup history in 2024. During a T20 World Cup 2024 group match, Uganda collapsed to 39 all out in 12 overs while chasing West Indies' 173/5 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. For Uganda, Juma Miyagi (13) was the only batter to reach double digits. Left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein was the wrecker-in-chief for the West Indies with his match-winning figures of 4-0-11-5. Earlier, Johnson Charles (44), Andre Russell (30 not out), Rovman Powell (23), Sherfane Rutherford (22) and Nicholas Pooran (22) powered West Indies to 173/5 in their allotted overs. West Indies won the game by 134 runs.

Netherlands | 39 vs Sri Lanka | 2014

The Netherlands registered the lowest total in T20 World Cup history in March 2014. Put in to bat, the Peter Borren-led Netherlands were shot out for 39 in 10.3 overs against Sri Lanka during a T20 World Cup group match in Chattogram. All-rounder Angelo Mathews and right-arm off-spinner Ajantha Mendis picked up three wickets each to help Sri Lanka bowl out the Netherlands for an embarrassing total. For the Netherlands, Tom Cooper (16) was the only batter to reach double digits. In reply, Sri Lanka chased down the target in just five overs to register a comprehensive nine-wicket win in Bangladesh. 

Netherlands | 44 vs Sri Lanka | 2021

The Netherlands also recorded the second-lowest total in T20 World Cup history. During the seventh edition of the T20 World Cup in 2021, the Netherlands were bundled out for 44 against Sri Lanka in Sharjah. Led by captain Pieter Seelaar, the Netherlands lost wickets at regular intervals as they were skittled out for another humiliating total. Colin Ackermann top-scored with 11 off nine balls. Lahiru Kumara and Wanindu Hasaranga scalped three wickets each, while Maheesh Theekshana took two wickets for Sri Lanka. Later, Sri Lanka rode on Kusal Perera’s 33 off 24 balls to chase down the target in 7.1 overs as they won the game by eight wickets.

West Indies | 55 vs England | 2021

West Indies feature third on the list for the lowest total in T20 World Cup history. The Kieron Pollard-led West Indies were shot out for 55 in 14.2 overs against England during a T20 World Cup group match in Dubai in 2021. Put into bat, the star-studded Caribbean outfit were skittled out for an embarrassing total on a tricky pitch in Dubai. Legendary West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle (13) was the lone batter who reached double digits. Leg-spinner Adil Rashid was the wrecker-in-chief for England with impressive figures of 4/2 in his 2.2 overs. In reply, Eoin Morgan’s England lost early wickets but later won the game by six wickets.

The Kennington Oval is one of the world's oldest cricket grounds located in London, England.

Established in 1845, the Kennington Oval has been the home ground of Surrey County Cricket Club and England cricket team.

Located in the borough of Lambeth, in south London, the Oval was the first cricket ground in England to host international Test cricket in September 1880. Arch-rivals England and Australia featured in that historic Test which the hosts won by five wickets. 

Later in 1973, it staged its first One-Day International (ODI) played between England and West Indies. Led by Rohan Kanhai, West Indies won the game by eight wickets.

The Kennington Oval later hosted its first T20 international played between England and West Indies in June 2007. The Chris Gayle-led West Indies won the first T20I at this iconic venue by 15 runs. Since then, it has staged more than 15 T20 internationals so far.

This stadium hosted the final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy as well and has played host to other sports like football, hockey, and rugby, including an FA Cup final.

Put in to bat, South Africa rode on AB de Villiers�?unbeaten 79, along with contributions from Jacques Kallis (48), captain Graeme Smith (38) and Albie Morkel (24) to post a record T20 total at the venue. In reply, Scotland were bundled out for 81 in 15.4 overs as South Africa won the game by a massive 130 runs.

Lowest total

The Scotland cricket team registered the lowest total at the Kennington Oval in the T20 format. During an ICC T20 World Cup 2009 encounter, Scotland were skittled out for 81 in 15.4 overs while chasing South Africa’s 211/5. For Scotland, Kyle Coetzer (42) and Majid Haq (15) were the only two batters to reach double digits. Dale Steyn, Johan Botha, Roelof van der Merwe and Albie Morkel picked up two wickets each to guide South Africa to a 130-run victory in London.

Most runs

Legendary West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle has scored the most runs at the venue in T20 international cricket. The flamboyant left-handed batter accumulated 237 runs in six T20I matches at an average of 47.40 and a strike rate of 147.20. Gayle slammed three T20I fifties at this ground. His highest score of 88 at this venue came against Australia during an ICC T20 World Cup game in 2009. Gayle’s knock helped West Indies register a seven-wicket win in the match. 

Most wickets

Former Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul scalped the most wickets at this cricket ground in the T20I format. The right-arm pacer bagged nine wickets in just three T20I matches at an average of 6.88 and an economy of 5.63. The likes of Saeed Ajmal, Stuart Broad, Jerome Taylor and Dwayne Bravo share the second spot with six scalps each. 

Highest individual score

Former Sri Lanka cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan registered the highest individual score at the Kennington Oval in T20 international cricket. Opening the batting, Tillakaratne Dilshan slammed an unbeaten 96 off just 57 balls against West Indies during an ICC T20 World Cup match in 2009. His magnificent knock was laced with 12 fours and two sixes. Dilshan’s knock helped Sri Lanka post 158/5 in their 20 overs. Later, Sri Lanka bowled out West Indies for 101 in 17.4 overs to secure a 57-run victory in London.

Best bowling figures

Umar Gul has the best bowling figures at this venue in the T20 format. During an ICC T20 World Cup 2009 game, the right-arm pacer registered match-winning figures of 3-0-6-5 against New Zealand. Umar Gul dismissed Scott Styris, wicketkeeper-batter Peter McGlashan, Nathan McCullum, James Franklin and Kyle Mills to help Pakistan bowl out New Zealand out for 99 in 18.3 overs. Pakistan later chased down the target in just 13.1 overs to win the match by six wickets. 

Highest partnership

West Indies�?Chris Gayle and Andre Fletcher hold the record for the highest partnership at the Kennington Oval in T20 international cricket. Captain Chris Gayle and Andre Fletcher forged an impressive 133-run partnership for the opening wicket against Australia during an ICC T20 World Cup game in 2009. While Gayle smashed 88 off 50 balls, Andre Fletcher scored a 32-ball 53 to help West Indies chase down Australia’s  169/7 in 15.5 overs to register a comprehensive seven-wicket victory in London.

The ECN Netherlands T20I Tri-Series 2024 is scheduled to start on May 18 in Amsterdam.

Organised by the European Cricket Network (ECN), the ECN Netherlands T20I Tri-Series 2024 will see hosts Netherlands, Ireland and Scotland compete in a total of six matches.

As per the ECN Netherlands T20I Tri-Series 2024 format, each team will play the other sides twice in a double round-robin format. 

The team finishing at the top of the standings after all six matches will clinch the tri-series.

The Netherlands, Ireland and Scotland will aim to make use of the upcoming series ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the West Indies and the United States starting on June 2.

Ranked 11th in the ICC men’s T20I team rankings, Ireland are the top-ranked side in the upcoming T20I series.

Meanwhile, Scotland are ranked 13th while the Netherlands are placed 15th in the rankings.

The Scotland national cricket team will host Oman in a one-off T20 international match in Dundee, Scotland on Tuesday, May 14.

As per the schedule, the Scotland vs Oman T20 2024 match will be played at the Forthill Cricket Ground.  The one-off T20 will start at 3:30 PM IST (11:00 AM local time).

Ranked 12th in the ICC Men’s T20I team rankings, Scotland will head into the game high on confidence after registering a 2-1 T20I series win over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Dubai in March.

Ahead of the series, Scotland have announced their 15-member squad to be led by captain Richie Berrington.

The likes of George Munsey, Michael Leask, Jack Jarvis, Chris Greaves and Brandon McMullen are the other notable inclusions in Scotland’s T20 squad.

On the other hand, the Oman national cricket team will aim to continue their good form after reaching the ACC Men’s T20I Premier Cup 2024 final.

Led by Zeeshan Maqsood, Oman won all their four group matches to advance to the ACC Men’s T20I Premier Cup semi-finals. 

World’s 18th ranked T20I side Oman later beat Hong Kong in the semi-final before going down to UAE in the summit clash.

Meanwhile, Zeeshan Maqsood will lead the Oman side in the upcoming T20 game in Dundee.

Both Scotland and Oman will look to test themselves in the game ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the West Indies and the United States starting on June 2.

Co-hosts, the West Indies and the United States, along with the top eight teams from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 have directly qualified for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Defending champions England, runners-up Pakistan, semi-finalists India, New Zealand, besides Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa and the Netherlands feature in the list of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 qualified teams.

As per the T20 World Cup 2024 qualification rules, the International Cricket Council (ICC) included 12 automatic qualification places for the ninth edition of the biennial T20 International (T20I) tournament.

Afghanistan and Bangladesh, the next two best-ranked teams in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings, have claimed the remaining two automatic qualification places for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

The remaining eight spots for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 have also been filled with the help of the ICC regional qualifiers, which includes the top two teams from Africa, Asia, and Europe, alongside one team each from the Americas and the East Asia-Pacific groups.

Scotland and Ireland have also qualified for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 after reaching the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier final. Scotland defeated Ireland by eight runs in the final to win the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier.

Papua New Guinea have also made the cut after winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifier tournament. They beat Japan by six wickets in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifier final.

According to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 format, the 20 participating teams will be divided into four groups of five teams each. The ninth edition of the T20 World Cup is set to be played from June 4 to 30, 2024.

The Canada national cricket team top an unfortunate record list of lowest totals in ODI World Cup history.

During an ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 clash, Canada were bundled out for 36 by Sri Lanka in Paarl.

Prior to the batting misfortune in South Africa, Canada also held the previous record for the lowest total in ODI World Cup history. England bowled out Canada for 45 in Manchester in 1979.

Namibia were also skittled out for 45 by Australia during an ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 encounter in Potchefstroom.

Among an ICC full member nation, Bangladesh hold the dubious record for the lowest total in ODI World Cups. The Tigers were bowled out for 58 against West Indies in Mirpur in 2011. Know the lowest totals in ODI World Cup history.

Canada | 36 vs Sri Lanka | 2003

Canada recorded the lowest total in ODI World Cup history against Sri Lanka in 2003. Put in to bat, Canada were skittled out for 36 in just 18.4 overs in Paarl. Desmond Chumney and captain Joe Harris top-scored with nine runs each for Canada. For Sri Lanka, pacer Prabath Nissanka was the wrecker-in-chief as he bagged four wickets. Sri Lanka later chased down the required target in 4.4 overs to register a commanding nine-wicket win.

Canada also held the previous record for the lowest total in ODI World Cup history. Hosts England bowled out Canada for 45 during the Prudential World Cup clash in Manchester in 1979. Franklyn Dennis was the top-scorer for Canada with 21. Bob Willis and Chris Old took four wickets each for England. The English later won the match by eight wickets.

The Namibia cricket team features third on the list for lowest totals in ODI World Cups. Chasing 302, Namibia were bowled out for 45 by defending champions Australia during an ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 clash in Potchefstroom. Captain Deon Kotze was the top-scorer for Namibia with 10. Australia fast bowler Glenn McGrath scalped seven wickets. Earlier, Matthew Hayden’s 88, Andrew Symonds�?59 and Darren Lehmann’s unbeaten 50 powered Australia to 301/6 in their 50 overs.

Bangladesh | 58 vs West Indies | 2011

Bangladesh’s 58 against West Indies is the lowest total by an ICC full-member nation in ODI World Cup history. Electing to bat first, hosts Bangladesh were skittled out for 58 in 18.5 overs during an ICC World Cup 2011 clash in Mirpur. Zunaed Siddique was the top-scorer with 25. For West Indies, Sulieman Benn claimed four wickets. West Indies later chased down the target in 12.2 overs to secure a dominant nine-wicket victory.

Scotland | 68 vs West Indies | 1999

Scotland complete the top five list for the lowest totals in ODI World Cup history. During an ICC Cricket World Cup 1999 encounter, West Indies bowled out Scotland for 68 in 31.3 overs. Courtney Walsh was the standout bowler for West Indies with three wickets, while Gavin Hamilton top-scored for Scotland with 24. West Indies won the match by eight wickets.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Regional Final 2023 will start on July 20 and run till July 28 in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The winner and runner-up at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Regional Final 2023 will qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 to be hosted by the West Indies and the United States.

Hosts Scotland, Austria, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Jersey are the seven teams that will compete in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Regional Final 2023 for the two spots at the biggest-ever ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024.

As per the format, each team will play the other side once in a round-robin format. The top two teams in the standings after all the league matches will qualify for the marquee ICC T20 tournament.

Denmark defeated Portugal by nine wickets in the sub-regional Qualifier C final to become the first team to advance to the upcoming regional final. Meanwhile, Italy beat the Isle of Man by seven wickets in the final of the sub-regional Qualifier A to progress to the regional final.

Austria were the final team to qualify for the regional final after overcoming Norway in the sub-regional Qualifier B final. 

Germany and Jersey made it to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Regional Final 2023 having received a bye after competing in the global qualifiers last year.

Scotland and Ireland failed to qualify directly for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and will now compete in the Europe Regional Final 2023.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Regional Final 2023 matches will be played at two venues in Edinburgh - Grange Cricket Club and Goldenacre Cricket Ground.
