The South Africa Women vs England Women ODI 2024 series will start in Kimberley, South Africa on Wednesday, December 4.

As per the South Africa Women vs England Women ODI 2024 schedule, the first game of the series will be played at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley.

The two teams will later travel to Durban for the second ODI scheduled to be held at the Kingsmead Cricket Ground on December 8.

Meanwhile, young England all-rounder Freya Kemp will miss the upcoming ODI series in order to manage her workload ahead of the Ashes series in Australia starting next month.

On the other hand, the South Africa women's national cricket team will aim to bounce back after their disappointing performance in the T20I series.

Star all-rounder Marizanne Kapp and pacer Ayabonga Khaka will return for the ODI series after being rested in the T20I series.

The hosts though will miss the services of all-rounder Seshnie Naidu due to her school exams.

South Africa will lock horns with New Zealand in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Sunday, October 20.

Led by Laura Wolvaardt, the South Africa women's national cricket team stormed into their second successive Women’s T20 World Cup final after they stunned defending champions and six-time winners Australia Women by eight wickets in the first semi-final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.

Electing to bowl first, South Africa restricted Australia to 134/5 in their 20 overs. Pacer Ayabonga Khaka picked up two wickets while Marizanne Kapp and Nonkululeko Mlaba took one scalp each. For Australia, wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney top-scored with 44 while Ellyse Perry scored 31.

In reply, Anneke Bosch slammed 74 not out while captain Laura Wolvaardt scored 42 to help South Africa reach the target in just 17.2 overs.

Earlier, South Africa finished second in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Group B standings with three wins and one loss. South Africa’s only defeat in the ongoing T20 tournament came against England as they lost by seven wickets in Sharjah.

On the other hand, the New Zealand women's national cricket team booked their place in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 final after they beat West Indies Women by eight runs in a nail-biting semi-final encounter in Sharjah.

Opting to bat first, New Zealand rode on contributions from Georgia Plimmer (33), Suzie Bates (26), Isabella Gaze (20) and Brooke Halliday (18) to post a fighting total of 128/9 in their 20 overs.

Later, right-arm off-spinner Eden Carson bagged three wickets while leg-spinner Amelia Kerr picked up two wickets to help New Zealand restrict West Indies to 120/8 in their allotted overs.

Under the leadership of Sophie Devine, New Zealand earlier qualified for the semi-finals after they finished second in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Group A standings. Having registered three wins and one loss, the White Ferns accumulated six points from four group matches.

New Zealand’s solitary loss in the tournament came against arch-rivals Australia after they succumbed to a 60-run defeat in Sharjah.

Meanwhile, both South Africa and New Zealand will aim to clinch their maiden Women’s T20 World Cup title on Sunday. While South Africa have previously finished runners-up in the Women's T20 World Cup history in 2009 and 2010, South Africa lost to Australia in the Women's T20 World Cup final last year.

The Pakistan Women vs South Africa Women T20 2024 series will start in Multan on Monday, September 16.

The India women's cricket team will host South Africa Women in a three-match T20 international series starting on Friday, July 5.

Led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, India Women will head into the T20I series high on confidence after clinching the Test and ODI series against South Africa Women.

India Women recently thrashed South Africa by 10 wickets in a one-off Test at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Earlier, the Women in Blue secured a 3-0 sweep in a three-match ODI series held at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Ranked third in the ICC women’s T20I team rankings, India Women previously registered a 5-0 clean sweep over hosts Bangladesh Women in their last T20I series in May.

The India women's cricket team will square off against South Africa Women in a one-off Test to be played at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai starting on Friday, June 28.

Under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, India Women will head into the Test brimming with confidence after securing a 3-0 sweep in the recently-concluded three-match ODI series in Bengaluru.

Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana was adjudged the Player of the Series after scoring 343 runs in three ODIs at an average of 114.33 and a strike rate of 103.94.

Earlier in December, India Women defeated Australia Women by eight wickets in their last Test at the Wankhede Stadium.

Meanwhile, Under-19 World Cup winning pacer Shabnam Shakil has been included in India Women’s Test squad for the upcoming fixture.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium is one of India’s most iconic cricket grounds located in the heart of Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka. 

Established in 1969, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium is owned by the Government of Karnataka and has been leased out to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for a period of 100 years.

Originally known as the Karnataka State Cricket Association Stadium, it was renamed  in tribute to Mangalam Chinnaswamy, who was the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from 1977 to 1980. He was  the founding member of the Mysore State Cricket Association and later served the KSCA for close to four decades.

Surrounded by the beautiful Cubbon Park, and uptown MG Road, the Bengaluru cricket ground has a seating capacity of around 34,000.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium staged its first international cricket match, a Test played between hosts India and West Indies in November 1974. The visitors won the Test by 267 runs.

Since then, it has hosted several Tests, ODIs and T20s across formats in men’s cricket.

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium hosted its first women’s international match in November 1976 when the India women’s cricket team played a Test against West Indies. The fixture ended in a draw.

Two decades later, it staged its first women’s one-day international match between Australia and South Africa in a Women’s World Cup clash in December 1997. Led by Belinda Clark, Australia won the game by 10 wickets.

The India women’s cricket team holds the record for the highest total at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in women’s ODI cricket. During the second ODI of South Africa Women’s tour of India in June 2024, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led hosts posted 325/3 in their 50 overs in Bengaluru. India rode on Smriti Mandhana’s 136 off 120 balls along with contributions from skipper Harmanpreet (103 not out) to register the highest women’s ODI total at the venue. South Africa women could manage a close 321/6 in 50 overs. India Women won the match by a low margin of four runs.

Lowest total

India also registered the lowest total at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the women’s ODI format. Electing to bat first, India Women were bundled out for 114 in 38.5 overs against South Africa in the first ODI of a three-match series. Jhulan Goswami (33) and Harmanpreet Kaur (31) were the top-scorers for India. Marizanne Kapp and Dane van Niekerk picked up four wickets each for the visitors. In reply, Chloe Tryon slammed a match-winning fifty to guide South Africa Women to a nail-biting two-wicket win in Bengaluru.

Most runs

Top-order batter Smriti Mandhana scored the most runs at this venue in women’s ODI cricket. The stylish southpaw amassed 400 runs in 10 matches at an average of 40 and a strike rate of 78.12. She recorded one fifty in the ODI format on this ground. Former captain Mithali Raj is second on the list with 386 runs in 11 ODI matches on this ground.

Most wickets

Former India fast bowler Jhulan Goswami picked up the most wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in women’s ODI cricket. Between 2010 and 2015, the legendary right-arm pacer bagged 16 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 14.43 and an impressive economy of 2.48. India’s left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht features second on the list with 10 ODI wickets in seven games at an average of 17.80 and an economy of 2.84. 

Highest individual score

Smriti Mandhana registered the highest individual score at this venue in the women’s ODI format. Opening the batting, the flamboyant left-handed batter scored 136 off 120 balls during the second ODI of South Africa Women’s tour of India in June 2024. Smriti Mandhana’s scintillating knock was laced with 18 fours and two sixes. Her knock powered India Women to 325/3 in their allotted 50 overs. India Women later restricted South Africa Women to 321/6 to win the match by four runs.

Best bowling figures

Former England cricketer Katherine Sciver-Brunt recorded the best bowling figures at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in women’s ODI cricket. The right-arm pacer registered match-winning figures of 5/22 against India during the second ODI of England’s tour of India in February 2010. Defending 183, Katherine Sciver-Brunt dismissed Anagha Deshpande, Anjum Chopra, Priyanka Roy, Rumeli Dhar and Preeti Dimri to help England bowl out India for 180 in 49.3 overs. Sciver-Brunt’s magnificent spell guided England to a thrilling three-run win in Bengaluru. 

Highest partnership

South Africa's Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp hold the record for the highest partnership at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in the women’s ODI format. The right-handed batters forged a 184-run stand for the fourth wicket against India during the second ODI of South Africa Women’s tour of India in June 2024. Chasing 126, captain Wolvaardt scored an unbeaten 135 while Kapp scored 114. However, South Africa were short of target by just five runs, leading to India's win by four runs.

The India Women’s highest score in ODI cricket is 358/2 which was recorded against Ireland Women in Potchefstroom in May 2017.

During a Women's Quadrangular Series encounter, the Mithali Raj-led side posted their first 350-plus score to register India Women’s highest score in ODI cricket history.

Between 2017 and 2024, the India women's cricket team has posted five 300-plus totals in ODI cricket.

Meanwhile, New Zealand holds the record for the highest score in women’s ODI cricket history.

Led by captain Suzie Bates, New Zealand Women scored 491/4 in their 50 overs against Ireland Women in the first ODI of a three-match series in June 2018.

358/2 vs Ireland Women, May 2017

The India women's cricket team scripted history against Ireland Women in a Women's Quadrangular Series clash in May 2017. Electing to bat first, the Women in Blue rode on twin centuries from openers Deepti Sharma (188) and Punam Raut (109) to record India Women’s highest score in ODI cricket. Later, Mithali Raj-led India bowled out Ireland Women for 109 in 40 overs to secure a massive 249-run victory in Potchefstroom.

333/5 vs England Women, September 2022

The India Women’s second-highest score in ODI cricket came against England Women in Canterbury in September 2022. During the second ODI of India Women’s tour of England, captain Harmanpreet Kaur slammed an unbeaten 143 along with contributions from Harleen Deol (58) and Smriti Mandhana (40) to post a mammoth score of 333/5 in their 50 overs. In reply, England Women were bundled out for 245 in 44.2 overs as the visitors won the ODI by 88 runs.

325/3 vs South Africa Women, June 2024

The India Women’s third-highest score in ODI cricket was recorded against South Africa in Bengaluru in June 2024. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led hosts posted 325/3 in their 50 overs in the second ODI of a three-match series at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium. India rode on opener Smriti Mandhana’s 136 off 120 balls and Harmanpreet’s unbeaten 88-ball 103 to post a huge total on the board.

The South Africa women's national cricket team will host Sri Lanka in a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series starting on Tuesday, April 9.

The upcoming three-match ODI series is a part of the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25.

With 10 wins in 15 matches, South Africa Women are currently placed second in the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25 standings with 20 points.

Sri Lanka Women, on the other hand, have registered four wins and suffered eight defeats. They are placed eighth in the standings with 11 points.

As per the South Africa Women vs Sri Lanka Women ODI 2024 schedule, the first game will be played at the Buffalo Park in East London.

The two teams will later travel to Kimberley to play the second ODI to be hosted at the Diamond Oval in Kimberley on April 13.

The third and final ODI of the series is scheduled to be held at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on April 17.

Ranked third in the ICC women’s ODI team rankings, South Africa have announced their 14-member squad to be led by Laura Wolvaardt.

The hosts will miss the services of experienced all-rounder Chloe Tryon due to a back injury. All-rounder Delmi Tucker has been named as Chloe Tryon’s replacement in the squad.

Meanwhile, the 16-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Karabo Meso has received her maiden ODI call-up. 

South Africa Women will aim to bounce back in the 50-over format after suffering a 1-2 defeat in the recently-concluded T20I series.

While the Proteas won the opening T20I, they lost the next matches to succumb to a series defeat at home.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka women's national cricket team will be high on confidence after clinching the T20I series.

The visitors will once again be led by ICC Women’s ODI Cricketer of the Year, Chamari Athapaththu. 

Interestingly, Sri Lanka Women are touring South Africa for their first bilateral series since 2019. 

South Africa Women vs Sri Lanka Women ODI head-to-head 

South Africa Women have a dominant head-to-head record against Sri Lanka Women in ODI cricket, winning 14 of the 20 matches that they have played so far. On the other hand, Sri Lanka Women have registered just four victories while two matches ended in no result.

The last time these two sides met, South Africa Women thrashed Sri Lanka Women 3-0 in a three-match ODI series in February 2019.

The Sahara Willowmoore Park is a multi-purpose cricket stadium located in Benoni, South Africa.

Established in 1924, the Sahara Willowmoore Park has a seating capacity of 20,000. It features a state of the art new sub-surface, ring drainage system on the playing area and three new pitches were also laid to improve ground consistency.

The Benoni cricket stadium also comprises a new world class players facility, a four-story Media Centre and a LED electronic scoreboard.

It is the home ground for Easterns Cricket, the South Africa men’s cricket team and the South Africa women’s cricket team. 

The Sahara Willowmoore Park staged its first international fixture, a one-day international (ODI) played between India and Zimbabwe in February 1997. Led by Sachin Tendulkar, India won the game by six wickets.

Since then, it has hosted several high profile cricket matches including 2003 50-over World Cup matches.

The Sahara Willowmoore Park hosted its first women’s international match in March 2005 when the West Indies women’s cricket team beat Sri Lanka Women by eight wickets during an ICC Women’s World Cup clash.

The South Africa women’s cricket team holds the record for the highest team total at the Sahara Willowmoore Park in women’s ODI cricket. During the third ODI of Bangladesh women’s tour of South Africa in 2023, the hosts posted 316/4 in their 50 overs. The Proteas captain Laura Wolvaardt slammed 126 off 134 balls while her opening partner Tazmin Brits scored 118 to help South Africa register a record WODI total at the venue. South Africa Women later bundled out Bangladesh Women for 100 in 31.1 overs to win the game by a massive 216 runs. The hosts won the three-match ODI series 2-1.

Lowest team total

The Bangladesh women’s cricket team recorded the lowest team total at the Sahara Willowmoore Park in women’s ODIs. Chasing 317, the Nigar Sultana-led Bangladesh were bowled out for 100 in 31.1  overs as the visitors suffered a 216-run defeat. Ritu Moni top-scored for Bangladesh with 33 while Fahima Khatun added 15. For South Africa, Ayabonga Khaka and Nadine de Klerk bagged three wickets each to guide the hosts to an ODI series victory.

Most runs

South Africa’s star batter Laura Wolvaardt has scored the most runs at this venue in women’s ODI cricket. The stylish right-handed batter has amassed 187 runs in three matches at an average of 62.33 and a strike rate of 77.27. She has slammed one century and one fifty in the WODI format on this ground. Former South Africa cricketer Lizelle Lee is second on the list with 146 runs in three ODI matches on this ground.

Most wickets

South African all-rounder Marizanne Kapp has picked up the most wickets at the Sahara Willowmoore Park in women’s ODI cricket. Between 2013 and 2013, the right-arm pacer has scalped six wickets in three ODIs at an average of 22.83 and an economy of 4.41. England’s Anya Shrubsole features next on the list with four wickets in the solitary ODI that she has played at this venue.

Highest individual score

South Africa Women captain Laura Wolvaardt registered the highest individual score at this venue in the women’s ODI format. The right-handed batter scored 126 runs off 134 balls during the third ODI of Bangladesh women’s tour of South Africa in 2023. Laura Wolvaardt’s scintillating knock helped the hosts post 316/4 in their 50 overs. Her knock was laced with 13 fours and one six. Wolvaardt’s knock powered the Proteas a thumping victory in  Benoni.

Best bowling figures

England’s Anya Shrubsole recorded the best bowling figures at the Sahara Willowmoore Park in women’s ODI cricket. Anya Shrubsole registered match-winning figures of 4/29 against South Africa during the ICC Women's Championship in 2016. Shrubsole dismissed Laura Wolvaardt, captain Mignon du Preez, Marizanne Kapp and Lizelle Lee to bowl out South Africa for 196 in 49.2 overs. England Women won the game by seven wickets (D/L method).

Highest partnership

South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits hold the record for the highest partnership at the Sahara Willowmoore Park in women’s ODIs. Laura Wolvaardt and Tazmin Brits forged a brilliant 243-run stand for the opening wicket against Bangladesh in the third ODI in 2023. Wolvaardt  hammered 126 while Brits scored 118 to power South Africa to 316/4 in their 50 overs. The visitors won the match by 216 runs.

The South Africa women's national cricket team will host Sri Lanka in a three-match T20 international series starting on Wednesday, March 27.

As per the South Africa Women vs Sri Lanka Women T20 2024 schedule, the first game will be played at the Willowmoore Park in Benoni on March 27.

The two teams will later travel to Potchefstroom to play the second T20I to be hosted at the Senwes Park on March 30.

The third and final T20I of the series is scheduled to be held at the Buffalo Park in East London on April 3.

Harshitha Samarawickrama, Anushka Sanjeewani, Sugandika Kumari, Kavisha Dilhari, Inoshi Fernando and Prasadini Weerakkody are the other notable inclusions in the Sri Lankan squad.

Currently ranked seventh in the ICC women’s T20I team rankings, Sri Lanka last played a T20I in the Asian Games in September.

Under the leadership of Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka Women reached the final before losing to India by 19 runs.

South Africa Women hold a superior head-to-head record against Sri Lanka Women in T20 international cricket, winning 10 of the 14 matches that they have played so far. On the other hand, Sri Lanka Women have registered just four victories so far.
